Baked Pizza Company is more than just a restaurant—it's a hometown dream that came full circle.

 

My family moved to Sneads Ferry in 1983, and this community has been home ever since. I grew up here, spent my younger years fishing, exploring the coast, and eventually headed off to college. Like a lot of people, I thought I knew exactly what my future would look like.

What I didn't know was that it would all start with pizza.

My first job was at a small pizza shop just down the road in Surf City called Long Island Pizza. That's where I fell in love with the restaurant business, pizza making, and Italian cuisine. Through high school and college, I worked at other local pizza shops and even a steakhouse, learning something new everywhere I went.

 

After graduating from the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a business degree, I thought I would follow the path many of my family members had taken and build a career in real estate. Life had other plans.

When an opportunity came along to get back into the restaurant world, I took a chance on myself. In June of 2013, Baked Pizza Company opened its doors.

 

The journey hasn't always been easy. The early years were challenging as we worked to build a customer base and earn the community's trust. Then came years of steady growth. Then came COVID. Like many small businesses, we faced uncertainty, but we kept showing up, adapting, and pushing forward.

Now, more than 13 years later, we're still here—still serving great food, still meeting new faces, and still grateful for every customer who walks through our doors.

 

Along the way, "I" became "we."

I met the love of my life, Tiffany, and together we've built a family with our two wonderful daughters, Kyla and Ella. They are now part of the story too, and a big reason why this place means so much to us.

Baked Pizza Company has always been about more than pizza. It's about family, community, hard work, and creating a place where locals and visitors alike can gather, share a meal, and make memories.
